Motorola India has announced the availability of the Moto G Turbo few days back and today afternoon, the sale of Moto G Turbo Edition at Rs. 14,999 started through e-commerce giant Flipkart in blue or white with slate back colour options. Motorola India has offering 100% cashback to 100 customers till December 13, 2015 and there is also an exchange offer up to Rs. 6,000 off. For Airtel customers there is a availability of double data free. Coming to the design of the Moto G Turbo Edition there is no change but this is more a rugged version of Moto G Third Edition which was launched few months back ago. Moto G Turbo comes with QUALCOMM’s Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, 2GB of Ram with 16GB of internal memory unlike the Snapdragon 410 Processor in the earlier version. This is a huge upgrade from the previous version and this will definitely gain some attention in the end of 2015.
Motorola Smartphones are well known for their dust and water proof features and this Moto G Turbo Edition also comes with those features. Moto G Turbo comes with IP67 certification which means it can be submerged into static water of up to 1 metre for half an hour without any worry of damage and is also dust-resistant. The Moto G (3rd gen) comes with IPX7, which means it has not been tested against dust resistance. Don’t think or assume that you can take this Smartphone with you for swimming, it won’t stand and the salt water will definitely damage the mobile. Keeping aside the capacity of the battery, this Moto G Turbo Edition comes with fast charging feature like Moto X Series and Moto Turbo Phones ‘Turbo Charge’ named by Motorola.
Design and Screen:
Though the design seems like the previous version but the display of the smartphone hasn’t changed. Company has made some significant changes but the display seems unchanged and comes with 5-inch HD screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. The screen of the mobile is quite sharp and vivid in colours even when you bring down the brightness level to zero, thanks to the higher GPU Adreno 405. Even the experience of heavy games like Asphalt looks pretty good with this phone display.
Performance and OS:
The processor under the hood is Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor handles the multi-tasking and playing of high end games very smoothly. The pure android experience gives the clean user interface to the user and there is minimum bloatware in the OS. Currently, the smartphone is packed with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop version and soon it will get the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.
Motorola Moto G Turbo comes with the same 13MP rear and 5MP front cameras as the Moto G Third Generation. Motorola claims that the smartphone has zero shutter lag and there is also a video stabilization feature to shoot the videos even clearer. Like many Smartphones, it also faces some issues with the focusing particularly in in low-light environment and other than that you can snap great pictures with both the cameras.
The battery is also same as the previous Moto G Third generation but this time, Motorola added the Turbo charging feature which just gives 6 hours of battery life just with the 15 minutes of charge. Moto G Turbo Edition will take less than 60 minutes to charge completely and it lasts long more than a day with moderate usage.
It is a great phone for who are looking to buy a smartphone with average features. It won’t disappoint you with its performance and pure stock android performance but the screen resolution might hit you if you for sharper display. You won’t any see any difference with 720 or 1080P practically but the numbers are numbers when it comes to the paper. One more things is that many companies are offering great smartphones like OnePlus X, Xiaomi Mi4, Xiaomi Mi 4i and many more with Flagship features at the similar price range.
