Citroen has announced that the India-spec Basalt Coupe SUV will be unveiled on August 2, 2024 and it will rival the upcoming Tata Curvv. Citroen Basalt made its global debut in March this year.

The Citroen Basalt shares its underpinnings with the C3 Aircross. It has a similar design featuring split headlamps with LED DRLs, wraparound taillights and square-ish wheel arches. The stylish coupe-like roofline makes it stand out from rest for the bunch.
The Basalt will be offered with the same 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that powers the C3 Aircross. This engine will produce 109 BHP and 205 Nm and is paired to a 6-speed Manual or a 6-Speed Automatic Gearbox.
Citroen will position the Basalt above the C3 Aircross and could be priced from Rs. 11 lakh -12 lakh Onwards. Once launched, it will compete with the upcoming Tata Curvv directly and also target midsize SUVs like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Honda Elevate.
