Gaming Session and Battery Drain Test:

Six games will be played and after each game we’ll check the temperature and battery percentage. After that will the heat test, where we’ll see how hot the phone gets after taking pictures for 5 minutes continuously. There is an AC running in the background, set to 26 degrees and the room temperature is 28.

Battery percentage is at 96%.
Starting with Asphalt 8, after playing it for 8 minutes, the maximum temperature is 39 degrees. There was no lag, and it was a pretty good gaming experience. About the speaker, usually all phones has it at the bottom but this phone has it at the side, it’s definitely not my favorite position, but because of the placement audio was pretty good.

In Modern Combat 5, visuals were good, gaming experience was pretty good. At the start,
it felt like there was a slight lag, a few frame-drops, but after few seconds the entire gameplay was pretty smooth. It didn’t have any issues. So, in terms of gameplay everything was good, but I wish this phone had a Full HD+ resolution display. That’s the only con I’ve noticed so far. It’s been about 13 minutes since we started playing games.

So, the temperature after playing Modern Combat 5 is maximum at 40 degrees. The phone feels slightly warm near the camera area.

Next is PUBG. After playing this game for about 10 minutes at low graphic setting, there was a slight bit of frame-drops and lag, right at the beginning of the game. But, everything has rendered without any problem. For games like this you need to have a better screen. It’s playable but I wouldn’t recommend you to play it.

The temperature is 42 degrees, which is maximum so far. It feels slightly hot in the camera area.

Next, after playing Warhammer for about five minutes, the temperature is at 41 degrees. There is no problem with the gameplay. There was some slight occasional lag but it’s completely manageable, you can play that game.

Next Shadow Gun Legends. It’s been 31 minutes now since the start of gaming session and the current battery percentage is 90. So it used 6 percent of battery in 30 minutes, which is pretty decent for a Samsung phone.

After playing this game for about 10 minutes, on the front, it is 42 degrees that’s the maximum temperature. The game was playable, it was not lagging a lot, but I wouldn’t recommend you playing that game.

It’s been total 47 minutes of gaming session. The current battery percentage is 87%, so for almost 45 minutes of gaming, the phone used just about 9% of battery, which is really good.

Heat Test:

Now for the heat test, I took pictures continuously for five minutes. Capturing speeds went down slowly after 30 seconds.
The phone feels pretty hot after it’s done. The maximum temperature is 43 degrees.

So, in gaming session the maximum temperature was 42 degrees and in the heat test it was a maximum of 43 degrees. So, in terms of heating issues, this phone is doing a pretty good job.

The room temperature at the time of the test was 27 degrees. In our older gaming reviews room temperature used to be about 31 or 32 degrees, so those phones became very hot. But, using an AC in the background and the current room temperature being 27 degrees, the phone reached a maximum of 43 degrees in the heat test.

For normal usage your phone might not heat up. But, in worst case scenarios, if the room temperature is above 30 degrees, your phone might become very hot on intensive gaming or on intensive camera usage.
