Nokia 6.1 vs Honor 7X Camera Comparison

Hey, there! We’re comparing the latest smartphones Nokia 6.1 and Honor 7X.

As this is a camera comparison, let’s check the camera specifications of both the phones:

Nokia 6.1:
It has 16 MP camera with f/2.0 aperture, with Zeiss optics and dual-LED dual-tone flash.
On the front, it has 8 MP camera with f/2.0 aperture.
Honor 7X:
It has 16MP+2MP with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash.
On the front, it has 8 MP camera with f/2.0 aperture.

HDR Mode:

Nokia 6 supports Auto-HDR, and honor doesn’t. So, these are some pictures taken with HDR on Honor and Auto HDR on Nokia.

Images shot on Honor look more bright and colors are to the warmer side. Images from Nokia sometimes look bright with a different color. Comparatively, colors look more vivid on Nokia.
Capturing speeds are good on both the phones, while sharpness is slightly better on Nokia.

For HDR shots we’d prefer Nokia, because of the pleasing colors.

Without HDR:

Colors on Nokia are to the warmer side, while colors on Honor are much cooler and have more contrast. There is a huge difference in color reproduction. Nokia delivers close to accurate colors, while on honor colors look too saturated.

Macro Shots: Even while taking macro shots, Nokia does a better job with focusing and color reproduction.

Overall, Nokia 6 does a better job.

 

Portrait mode:

This feature is missing on Nokia, while Honor supports Portrait mode only for the rear camera. And here are the sample shots.

 

Low Light Performance:

In low light, images from Nokia are a bit dull as they lack sharpness and have a lot of visible noise. Comparatively, images from Honor have better colors, and less noise.

In low light we would pick Honor 7X as the winner.

 

Selfies:

Even for selfies, Nokia supports Auto-HDR and honor doesn’t. So all these pictures were taken in Auto-HDR mode on Nokia and without HDR on Honor.

Selfies from Nokia look wider, cleaner and have better color reproduction, while seflies from Honor are a bit over-exposed but, look good. Although, they don’t look as good as selfies from Nokia.

So for regular selfies, Nokia 6 is the winner once again.

Portrait Selfies:

Nokia 6 got the Portrait Selfies after an update and we couldn’t take shots for comparison. So, here are some portrait shots from Nokia.

Edge detection is good and just like selfies, it take good Portrait shots even in bad lighting conditions.

Low Light Selfies:

In low light conditions, selfies are soft on both phones. Selfies from Honor look a bit over-exposed some times, Nokia does a better job with exposure control and skin tones.

It’s almost a tie, but we would pick Nokia as the overall winner for Selfies.

While Honor can also take Portrait selfies, they look a bit over-exposed. So, we’ll pick Nokia as the winner once again.

Video:

Nokia 6.1 supports 4K recording while the Honor just records maximum at 1080p resolution. Both lack stabilization.

Footage from Nokia looks slightly better with better exposure control.

Front camera: Footage from honor looks a bit over-exposed and colors look faded, while Nokia does a better job with exposure control and even skin tones and colors look good.

 

In conclusion, Nokia has better cameras. But, if you consider the entire package, Honor has more to offer, like, Full View Display, it’s much more sleeker, light in weight, and has better software features like portrait mode for the rear camera.
