Hey, there! Today, you can see how to delete files with very long names on Windows.
For a demonstration let’s look at this file which is probably corrupted as you can see it has a very long name:
If we try to delete it we’ll get an error saying that the file name would be too long for the destination folder.
We can shorten the file name but when we try renaming it, we don’t have an option to do that.
Doesn’t even work with shortcuts like F2. We can’t go to even properties. So, to delete such files, we need to rename this file first. To rename this file, all we have to do is create a temporary WinRAR file.
Then open WinRAR press back button and select the file and press F2.
Now give whatever name you want. I typed some gibberish and clicked enter.
Now as you can see the file name changed.
Now you can delete this file.
